Phoenix home values up 1.1% October to November
The latest numbers from the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index show home values rose in the Phoenix area in November of last year while they fell around the country.  Only five of the 20 largest U.S. markets saw price increases in November versus October, and Phoenix’s 1.1% jump was the largest.

Fannie Mae To Rent Homes To Owners, Rather Than Foreclose

Fannie Mae, the now government controlled entity that insures many home loan in the United States has just announced a plan to allow certain homeowners on the verge of foreclosure the option of renting homes for a year.

 

The newly announced "Deed for Lease" program will allow homeowners to transfer title to Fannie Mae and sign a one-year lease, with potential month-to-month extensions after that.  Fannie May says the program will help save money because the lender does not need to complete the often lengthy and time-consuming foreclosure process.
