Mesa Real Estate

Mesa’s roots go back several thousand years to the Hohokam Indians, who built hundreds of miles of canals across the desert.  Some of these canals are used to this day.  The first pioneer settlers came from St. George, Utah to establish a Mormon settlement in the late 1870s.  In 1941, Falcon Field Airport was built to provide training for the British Royal Air Force.  Also that year, Williams Air Force Base was built to do the same for U.S. pilots.  Since then, several aeronautical companies moved to the arid, warm climate of Mesa.  Boeing’s Mesa facility was the site of the development of the Apache Longbow helicopter.  Mesa has grown to become the 3rd largest city in Arizona and the 39th largest in the country.  With a population of over 460,000 people, Mesa is larger than other more recognizable cities such as Miami, St. Louis and Atlanta.  A discussion of Mesa would not be complete without mention of professional baseball’s Cactus League.  Hohokam Park is the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs.  Spring training brings hundreds of thousands of fans to Arizona, and Mesa is right in the heart of it.
